West Brothers Chrysler-Dodge in Sullivan, MO. knows the importance of being involved in the community. They have a reputation for charitable fund- raising and civic support that will enhance their commercial efforts.
Last month, they devised a multi-faceted event to showcase new product while helping out the community. They held their own ‘Ram Challenge Event’ at the dealership. They invited enrolled business owners, some new business prospects and retail buyers. They had a display with upfitted Medium Duty trucks for visitors to examine. Customers were invited to drive a 2008 Dodge Ram 1500, a 2009 Ford, a 2009 Chevrolet, and a 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 on a curved course. The course included driving over split tires, a partial hill, speed bumps, and a massive rope.
After that, customers had the opportunity to drive a Ford and a Dodge Ram 1500, each pulling a trailer with a new Dodge Challenger. Driving over the unique terrain and pulling the load made it obvious that the Dodge’s new multi-link coil suspension quickly separated it from the competition, by highlighting its enhanced ride quality. The Dodge Ram clearly demonstrated more comfort, better control and handling, and greater confidence.
Even before getting into the 2009 Dodge Ram 1500, most people were pleasantly surprised by its all new exterior dynamic styling. Once they got inside the truck, folks were “wowed” by the craftsmanship on the interior John Schaefferkoetter, Account Manager, enrolled fifteen new businesses from prospects attending the ride/drive.
This is one of many events that West Brothers Chrysler Dodge holds each year. Most events incorporate a fund raiser that benefits a local charity. This year Maggie Heidbrink coordinated a "Chili Cook Off," which raised funds for Sullivan, Missouri's local community food drive. These community gatherings help get the whole dealership involved in supporting the BusinessLink effort.
In addition to these dealership events, John helps ‘fill the prospect funnel’ by making outside contacts. When he visits these businesses, he focuses on selling service, but is always prepared to talk about a vehicle sale. To plan his contacts, he has prioritized the prospect list on DealerConnect. John also added additional names from the local Chamber of Commerce and the yellow pages vocational listings. He makes it a habit to enroll every customer he meets.
